Having gained a Distinction on a Creative Writing MA at Keele University and recently completed a course in mentoring, following fifteen years of informal mentoring with Runaway Writers' group, I am setting up to earn the majority of my living through writing and related activities.

I am available for poetry residencies and workshops, one-to-one mentoring, poetry talks and editing. I am also experienced in planning, organising and MCing events of all sizes and would be happy to discuss working in any of these capacities.

I have had around 60 pieces either published in magazines, anthologies and publisher websites, or placed in competitions. A further twelve poems were printed in a limited edition pamphlet as part of an MA in creative writing.

Recent magazine credits include Under the Radar, The Interpreter's House and five:2:one. Websites include Burning House Press ( and The Staffordshire Collection ( . Anthologies include Cockatiels and Bold Women (for St. Giles Hospice) and the highly acclaimed Voices of 1919.
In 2019 I was published in five antologies including the CALM anthology Eighty-four, on verve press, and in 2020 I was a contributor to the Scriptstuff Lockdown Anthology

Recently I have become Editor of off-centre magazine, a magazine which welcoms submissions of poetry, prose and visual arts.
I do have a specific reading style and enjoy being in front of an audience. I have been to hundreds of open mic events. I have been a guest performer at Poetry Alight in Lichfield, Nuneaon Literature Festival, an Edinburgh Free Festival event and at the Buxton Fringe amongst others. I have been placed in three poetry slams and have MC'ed events across the Midlands.

I have judged three poetry and one flash fiction competition

In 2020 I delivered virtual workshops for the NAWG Festival of writing, for which I was also involved in technical setup, technical administration, planning and training.
I have sat on the committee of two burton writers' groups as Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. I was Treasurer of NAWG for 18 months and (in my other life) have been Treasurer and Chair of Burton Table Tennis league and have been on the committee of many of the clubs I have played for.

I was an organiser of Repton Literary festival 2019 and of the NAWG Online writing festival 2020.
